Meet The Baker-in-Chief!

Tom Kopel, former Naval Aviator, Vietnam Veteran, Stock Broker, and Oriental Rug Merchant has always had a love of cooking from childhood. In 1971 while living in Meridian, Mississippi as a Navy jet instructor, he helped his then very pregnant wife knead a load of dough that she couldn't reach because of her big belly. From that moment on  Tom took over the family baking and was the unofficial "family baker" until 2000 when he began the commercial operation  of The Oley Baker.  Operating out of a 19th Century Victorian house, The Oley Baker distributes to retail outlets listed on this page.
